AP Refuses to Comply with Hackergate Investigation

This part stuck out in the Associated Press’ article on the hacking of Sarah Palin’s email account.

The Secret Service contacted The Associated Press on Wednesday and asked for copies of the leaked e-mails, which circulated widely on the Internet. The AP did not comply.

As Kathryn Jean Lopez asks, why is the Associated Press refusing to comply? Are there really sources to protect here? This is an investigation of a federal crime and gross invasion of the Governor’s privacy. That’s the story here.
