David Letterman: Leftist Hack

by Stephan Tawney on Wed, Sep 24, 2008

As if we needed any more evidence. When John McCain cancelled his appearance on Letterman’s show in order to return to Washington to help fix the worst financial disaster since the Great Depression, Letterman decided to replace him with fellow leftist hack Keith Olbermann.

He then proceeded to mock McCain’s age and war hero status.

Earlier in the show, Dave kept saying, “You don’t suspend your campaign. This doesn’t smell right. This isn’t the way a tested hero behaves.” And he joked: “I think someone’s putting something in his metamucil.”

“He can’t run the campaign because the economy is cratering? Fine, put in your second string quarterback, Sara Palin. Where is she?”

“What are you going to do if you’re elected and things get tough? Suspend being president? We’ve got a guy like that now!”

No, hopefully suspend the advancement of his own political goals in order to deal with a major financial crisis. I know that may be difficult for a leftist hack to understand, but at least try to. And the debate was for presidential candidates — not VPs. The Commission on Presidential Debates wasn’t even willing to consider moving it back a date, what’s the likeliness that it’s willing to completely change the format and debaters?

I wish the IRS would look into Dave’s finances.

I agree 100% that Letterman has become nothing more than a tool for the democrats. He used to be so funny and upbeat but now he’s just old and depressing. Maybe age is getting the best of him but it’s really sad and pathetic. Time for him to move on.
