Sources: J.P. Morgan To Take Over WaMu

According to sources familiar with the matter, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. will take control of most of Washington Mutual’s operations, including its deposits and branches. Federal regulators have been significantly involved in the takeover and while other banks had been poring over WaMu’s books, none had made an offer. The Wall Street Journal reports: [...]

Obama Launches Attack on McCain, Dems Blame Him for Deal Collapse

I’m glad that Obama’s decided to joing McCain in working in a bi-partisan measure for the good of the people. You could really tell from his statement that he’s removing presidential politics from the resolution process: John McCain sought to change the subject from his out-of-touch response to the economic crisis with a big announcement [...]

Look at That: Deal Blows Up

Ace doesn’t believe that a deal was ever reached and neither do I. It was mostly Democrats claiming a deal while House Republicans said there was no such thing. What motivation would there be to be dishonest? So they could say, to quote Ace, this “McCain’s leadership meant nothing, his stunt had no effect, we’d [...]

One of Michelle Malkin’s readers noted an odd result on Barack Obama’s voter registration site. If you answer “no” to a question about if you’re a U.S. citizen, the page reads: “Unfortunately” only American citizens can vote? It’s unfortunate that people who aren’t US citizens can’t vote in our election? Wow.

Here’s the lawyers claim and NRA’s rebuttal (both PDF files). Just the latest in a string of intimidation tactics used by Team Obama to silence the opposition. This must be some more of that patented New PoliticsĀ® Barack is always talking about. Strange, it strongly resembles old politics. Exit question: Concern justifiable, no? And…

House Democrats incorrectly closed a floor vote on immigration in August 2007, leading Republicans to lose a vote they should’ve won. The penalty for the stolen vote? Nothing. Democrats incorrectly closed a vote on the House floor in August 2007, which would have resulted in Republicans prevailing on an immigration issue, according to a special [...]

House Republicans: What Deal?

While Democrats have been busy claiming that (coincidentally as McCain arrives) a deal has been reached, House Republicans have apparently yet to be notified. House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) says he’s encouraged by the progress made, but that no deal has been reached. Boehner issued a statement this afternoon saying, “I am encouraged by [...]

Obama May Turn Debate into Townhall if McCain Doesn’t Show

He refuses to hold joint townhalls with John McCain across the country, but he’s just fine holding a one-sided televised event version. Barack Obama is committed to hosting a public, televised event Friday night in Mississippi even if John McCain does not show up, an official close to the Obama campaign tells the Huffington Post. [...]

Where’s Your Garden, Barry?

Via Michelle Malkin, the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that the Illinois attorney general is investigating a grant of $100,000 given to an Obama aide by then-State Senator Barack Obama for a garden…that, er, never got built. A $100,000 state grant for a botanic garden in Englewood that then-state Sen. Barack Obama awarded in 2001 to [...]
