Usually I don’t give a crud who celebrities are voting for, but this would be one doozy of a hypocritical moment. In an interesting post today, Ace linked to a video of Dave Chappelle talking about politics and the tendency of some people not to tell the truth about who they’re voting for. He finishes the video (DEFINITELY NSFW) with the assertion that he could never vote for George W. Bush.
Why? Not because of his policies. No, Chappelle actually concedes that he isn’t aware of where Bush stands. But because Bush sniffed cocaine at one point in his life. We can’t have a man like that in the White House, Chappelle says. It’s too dangerous.
But someone else sniffed cocaine earlier in life, too. Who? None other than Barack Obama. Obama admits as much. So is he too dangerous to have in the White House? Or is Chappelle going to vote for him anyway?
Again, I don’t usually care what celebrities do. Some kids from Gossip Girl don’t like John McCain? Who gives a damn. But I can’t tolerate hypocrisy.
