The best part here isn’t the poll result, actually. It’s the Associated Press‘ blatant bias. So in the tank for The One are they that they don’t mention the top result in their own story. As AP (the blogger) explains, the waves reflect the fact that the poll was conducted over 10 days. Some more good news? Wave 8 gives the Democrats a 13-point lead. Michael Barone believes that the maximum voters spread would be about 8 to 9 points, but possibly less. The 2006 spread was actually in the low single-digits. What would happen if we were to reduce that 13-point advantage by even a point? Wave 7, taken some time last week, had the spread at 12 and McCain leading by 2. So who knows.
Rasmussen Reports, meanwhile, has Obama up by just 4. Gallup’s traditional likely voter sample has it at 2.
