29. October 2008

With just 5 days to go until the election, the race is tightening significantly. Among likely voters, Barack Obama leads John McCain by just 3 points. That would mark the first time in over a month that he’s held such a small lead.

New McCain Ad Goes After Obama on Half-Hour Special

Why? Probably because it was pretty a pretty effective strategy following Barack Obama’s speech in Berlin. Remember the “Celebrity” ad? It was a while ago and pre-economic crisis, but it worked at the time. This is looking at playing on the same theme while incorporating the economic crisis. The transcript: Behind the fancy speeches, grand [...]

Shamelessly stolen (though slightly altered) from Hot Air commenter lorien1973. Anyway, two people have been arrested on assault charges after they entered a GOP headquarters in Galax, Virgina, requested Obama/Biden stickers, then became agitated and violent. The individuals identified by Galax police as Daniel Cason Meinecke, 29, and Cara Annice Hindman, 26, came to the [...]

In his memoir Dreams From My Father, Barack Obama admits that he chose his friends carefully. He even says that those friends included Marxist professors. I’ve included the transcript immediately below and the video below that: To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The [...]

Did Syria Greenlight the U.S. Raid?

It would certainly answer a lot of my questions about it. The United States flew multiple helicopters into Syria, dropped in Special Forces, raided a compound, killed terrorists, and the most Assad’s government did was condemn it? No retaliation by its aerial defense systems as the U.S. flew helicopters over the border? Ronen Bergman, author [...]

CSM Becomes “Web-Only”

I can’t say I blame the Christian Science Monitor. The dead tree format seems to be dying and web-only keeps costs down. With so many people getting their news from the web nowadays, it’s really a smart move. We recently announced, as covered in today’s paper, that in April 2009 the daily print edition of [...]

Appointed to the District Court by Clinton in 1996, as if you had to ask. Why, it’s almost as if this decision was crafted to help the Democratic Party. But we all know that Ohio officials would never do that, right? COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – A federal judge in Ohio has ruled that counties must [...]

Palin Dances to “Redneck Woman” in Jeans

Guaranteed to further endear her to the base, as if that were actually possible. Not much commentary to add here, just a mid-afternoon palatte cleanser, if you will. Exit question: Let’s say that McCain fails to pull this thing off. Palin’s campaign theme song in 2012?

Oh, Mark!!!

I’ve been sick and tired of Mark Halperin’s stupidity for a while now, but this takes the cake. He points out a recent trend of Matt Drudge actually daring to point out Obama’s redistribution remarks and asking supporters to take off a day from work or school to help The One get elected. Apparently the [...]
