An earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale has hit Indonesia, prompting a tsunami warning to be issued by authorities.
The quake struck around noon EST or 1 AM local time in the Sulawesi region. The USGS reports its depth at 13 miles. There are no immediate reports of injuries, damage, or fatalities.
