by Stephan Tawney on Fri, Nov 21, 2008

The Attorney General of the United States, Michael Mukasey, collapsed on stage earlier this evening before giving a speech to the Federalist Society in Washington. The Politico reports that audience members began praying and that a stroke was feared.

While no further details on his condition were publicly known, administration witnesses report that “medical officials” were still working on him on stage at 10:30 PM ET.

Mr. Mukasey is in our thoughts and prayers.

Update: Michelle Malkin points to the American Spectator blog reporting that Mukasey was slurring his words before he collapsed and was carried out on a stretcher. Details as they come in.
