That’s pretty much what Barack Obama admitted at a press conference today. Responding to a reporter’s question about his comments in regards to Hillary Clinton during the primary, Obama talked about how unfair it is that one reporter decided to actually hold him to his rhetoric.

This is fun for the press to try to stir up whatever quotes were generated during the course of the campaign, and you’re having fun. And there’s nothing wrong with that. I’m not faulting it. But, look, I think if you look at the statements that Hillary Clinton and I have made outside of the heat of a campaign, we share a view that America has to be safe and secure, and in order to do that we have to combine military power with strengthened diplomacy.

Yes, how dare the press actually remember what he said and hold him to it! The media should know that nothing he said during the heat of an election can be taken seriously and they should just stop, you know, pointing it out.

It’s going to be a fun four years, folks.
