Report: Emanuel Spoke to Blago About Senate Seat

by Stephan Tawney on December 12, 2008

Obama chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich discussed the filling of Barack Obama’s Senate seat, a source close to the investigation tells MyFox Chicago. In fact, a list of candidates that would be acceptable to the President-elect was allegedly handed over to the Governor.

The source says the timing of the conversations would make it likely that the talks were taped and are in the hands of the FBI.

Multiple requests for comment by WFLD were not responded to by the Obama transition team.
