Ever intent on proving accurate the left’s accusations of stupidity, President Bush today said this in defense of abandoning free market principles:
“I’ve abandoned free-market principles to save the free-market system,” Bush told CNN television, saying he had made the decision “to make sure the economy doesn’t collapse.”
He’s abandoned the free-market principles to save the free-market in this country. And this made sense to him.
To be fair, of course, he’s hardly the only one in Washington thinking along these lines. Congress has already joined the President in throwing aside the free-market in order to preserve its presence. A bunch of geniuses there, too.
