Just how many Clinton Administration lackeys can Barack Obama fit in his cabinet? The One has tapped Clinton Chief of Staff Leon E. Panetta to head the CIA, the New York Times reports.
President-elect Barack Obama has selected Leon E. Panetta, the former congressman and White House chief of staff, to take over the Central Intelligence Agency, an organization that Mr. Obama criticized during the campaign for using interrogation methods he decried as torture, Democratic officials said Monday.
What kind of hands-on experience in the field of intelligence does Panetta have? Er, none. But he has a background in budget issues and wasn’t involved in harsh interrogation techniques! And really, what else does the head of the Central Intelligence Agency really need?

Why not? He named a Clinton crony with no foreign-policy experience to be Secretary of State, didn’t he?
Meanwhile, RedState has some history of Panetta while in the Clinton Administration. Apparently he sought to cut the CIA’s budget.
