Like I posted earlier, don’t think for a second that Obama didn’t set the tone for his supporters booing George Bush even as he was departing office. The new White House, missing only a donation button for Obama’s perpetual campaign, takes the space to slam Bush for his Katrina response.
Under the “agenda” portion of the site regarding Katrina, it reads: “President Obama will keep the broken promises made by President Bush to rebuild New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. He and Vice President Biden will take steps to ensure that the federal government will never again allow such catastrophic failures in emergency planning and response to occur.”
“President Obama swiftly responded to Hurricane Katrina,” the statement on the site continues. “Citing the Bush Administration’s ‘unconscionable ineptitude’ in responding to Hurricane Katrina, then-Senator Obama introduced legislation requiring disaster planners to take into account the specific needs of low-income hurricane victims.”
I thought that Bush was a good man and that the nation must look forward. It’s time for bipartisanship as we confront difficult challenges and renew American, isn’t it? You know, except for The One slamming a man who isn’t even in office any more for his response to a past challenge.
Just a little insight into how the Obama Administration will handle challenges and failures in the coming years: It’s George Bush’s fault. You see, the disaster left in the wake of Bushitler’s occupancy is so great that Obama, despite promising to stop the rise of the oceans, can’t fix much in one or even two terms. Things are getting worse? Why, that’s also Bush’s fault. President Obama confronts a challenge that he struggles to overcome? Look over there! Bush sucked, remember?
Unity! Hope! No red or blue states! Every promise has an expiration date!
