Rep. Dave Camp (R-MI), the ranking Republican member on the powerful House Ways and Means Committee, pressed a staffer from the Joint Committee on Taxation on job creation under the Democratic stimulus bill. How many jobs would be created after spending a trillion dollars or more? The staffer couldn’t confirm that the legislation would create a single job. Does Congress have information that the stimulus would actually create growth? Nope.

But we’re being told that we need it and need it now. Yeah, okay. What’s a trillion dollars spent with no certain outcome in sight?
