The first person President Obama called as president? Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Liberation Organization. The first network President Obama sits down with since taking office? Al-Arabiya, partially owned by Saudi Arabia, based in the United Arab Emirates. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say that a pattern is emerging here.
Al-Arabiya was last seen being banned in Iraq for “imprecise coverage” and carrying an audio tape from Saddam Hussein a month before he was captured by U.S. forces.
If you want to learn all about how Israel is overreacting to thousands of rockets being fired into its country, or perhaps hear story after story about how the Israelis hurt innocent Paletinians in said overreaction, do check out the network’s website. While there, don’t neglect to check out the “War or Massacre?” section, where you can year all about the babies being killed and the war crimes Israel is accused of.
Update: Oh, and how could I forget this? It’s video of Al-Arabiya’s studio being used by Hamas to launch rockets from. The response from the anchor is light-hearted laughter.
More: The American Spectator:
If I’m an Israeli, I would run, not walk, early and often, to vote for Binyamn Netanyahu for president there, because there ain’t no way that Obama is gonna support Israel when push comes to shove — so, therefore, the Israelis will need their leader to be a guy who is willing to do the pushing and shoving on his own regardless of whether the American president gives his okay.

Also, his first international speech will be from a Muslim country – the guess is Indonesia (since after all, he is one of their citizens or used to be when he went to school there). Lots of love, right now, going out to the Muslims.
What do you wanna bet that this won’t calm the extremist down, no matter how much you play up ‘America doesn’t hate Muslims.’ Interesting choices he’s making here.
As for the Israeli PM – yeah, find someone tough who has the balls to give the heat – especially, when they realize that with this Presidency, America might be turning wishy-washy on them.
