Eric Holder Confirmed 75-21

by Stephan Tawney on February 2, 2009

The U.S. Senate has confirmed Eric Holder as Attorney General by a vote of 75-21. This comes despite Holder’s pushing for pardons for fugitive Marc Rich and convicted FALN terrorists during the Clinton Administration.

The new Attorney General will be sworn-in tomorrow at the Justice Department.

As Michelle Malkin points out, nearly 20 Senate Republicans bent over and voted for Holder’s confirmation. Granted it’s not the same issue, but so many Senate Republicans willing to bend for The One doesn’t bode well.

Update: Here are the Republican Senators who voted in favor of confirming Holder:

Alexander (R-TN), Bennett (R-Utah), Bond (R-MO), Chambliss (R-GA), Collins (R-ME), Corker (R-TN), Graham (R-SC), Grassley (R-IA), Gregg (R-NH), Hatch (R-Utah), Isakson (R-GA), Kyl (R-AZ), Lugar (R-IN), McCain (R-AZ), Sessions (R-AL), Snowe (R-ME), Specter (R-PA), Voinovich (R-OH).

Hatch, Snowe, Collins, and many of those others aren’t really a surprise. McCain once again reminds me why I wasn’t exactly devastated when his RINO ass lost spectacularly in November. Sessions is a disappointment, as is Chambliss.
