President Obama managed to get his first tax hike of 2009 through today, raising money for the expansion of S-CHIP by increasing the tax on smokers. Far too many House Republicas bent over for the president, including Rep. Young of Alaska.
By the way, Obama talked about the expansion at a press conference not long ago. One line that got quite a bit if applause from fellow lefties was his championing the ability of states to provide free care for children of illegal aliens. Craptastic.
