Stimulus Bill Passes Senate; Dow Down 330+

by Stephan Tawney on February 10, 2009

So excited are investors about this “stimulus” bill that the Dow is off 336 points and the NASDAQ is down 54. The markets were simply thrilled with Geithner’s remarks today.

The bill now goes to conference, where the House and Senate will have to hammer out the differences. Harry Reid was somewhat silent and looked like crap in a news conference a moment ago. He admits that he’s worried about holding onto the 3 Republicans he’ll need again for this, and he has reason to worry. Specter is backtracking on news of the healthcare control provision and the other two RINOs have reportedly said that additional spending thrown into it during conference will result in them jumping off the wagon.

One can only hope.
