The cop perceived “Abort Obama, not the unborn” as a real assassination threat. Because we all know presidential assassins broadcast their plans to kill the Commander-in-Chief in their car window. It couldn’t possibly be an anti-abortion message.
Chip Harrison said he was driving to work when a police car followed him for several miles and then signaled for him to pull over.
”I pulled over, knowing I hadn’t done anything wrong,” Harrison said in a recent phone interview.
When the officer asked Harrison if he knew why he had been pulled over, Harrison said he did not.
”They said, ‘It’s because of the sign in your window,’” Harrison said.
”It’s not meant to be a threat, it’s a statement about abortion,” Harrison said.
Well, duh. Did the cop think about the likelihood that someone posing a real assassination threat would let him know of his plans to kill Obama by posting a sign in his car? Even the police department now recognizes the stupidity here:
Police spokesman Steve McCool said this morning that the sign was taken in error, and Oklahoma City residents should not be worried that their First Amendment rights will be violated…
Harrison said he later received a call from a person who said he was a lieutenant supervisor for the Internal Investigations Department and wanted to know his location and return his sign to him…
According to Harrison, the supervisor said the Secret Service had been contacted on the matter and had told them the sign was not a threat to the president.
Yet the Secret Service showed up on his door step and conducted a voluntary search of his house. They discovered, low and behold, he wasn’t any sort of threat to Obama.
McCool admits that Harrison’s First Amendment right was violated, but he attempts to claim everything is just dandy now because the sign was returned. Er, no. The department has made it clear that people who express dissent will be vetted to see if their dissent passes the legal test. It ends up discouraging many from expressing said dissent lest it should cause them to be pulled over and their house searched by agents. Everything isn’t fine now.

So I was originally worried about the USA becoming a socialist state, now I have to worry about it becoming a dictatorship like Orwell’s 1984’s Big Brother. hmmm.
So what do you think Big Black Brother is going to do about all the State Militia’s? Is his ‘homegrown’ guard going to ‘overcome’ them? I guess he’s never been to The South. I think he may be in for a surprise. I am a kayaker and I can tell you that from all the kayaking I’ve ever done on rivers in The South, EVERY time I could hear automatic weapons being fired, somewhere, not too far away, and I’m talking about from 15 years ago to last summer. Hmmmm. To quote a saying that Black Panthers used to put on their ‘hallmark cards’ that they sold in their muslim bakery in Berkeley, CA…. “What it is!”
Yup. Never knew what they meant by that saying (which would be inside a card whose outside was a photo of teenagers holding automatic weapons and being ‘instructed’ by some big black panther guy)… now I know. Yup. Now I know.
