Obama In Canada: It’s Great to Be Here in Iowa

by Stephan Tawney on February 19, 2009

He quickly corrected himself, but just imagine how Bush would’ve been fried for the rest of his term for that single slip-up.

You know how you can tell you’re not Iowa? The Royal Canadian Mounted Police met you at the foot of your plane. They don’t make many mass incursions into Des Moines.

The newness is showing – the president began his remarks with, “It’s a great pleasure to be here in Iowa – Ottawa.”

This isn’t Obama’s first locale mistake, either. He’s mixed up Sunrise with Sunshine and Sioux Falls with Sioux City. He also seemed a bit confused about Canada’s leadership back during the Democratic primary, promising during one debate to meet with the “President of Canada”.

Innocent mistakes? Yup. But the left for years used Bush’s attempt to go through a locked door as evidence of his stupidity. Even the media would revisit it. Obama tried to go through a window and it’s been forgotten about by now. Bush used bad grammar and was portrayed as a boob. Joe Biden claimed “jobs” is a three-letter word and it’s brushed off as him being tired.

Why should only Bush be smashed for ridiculous mistakes? Barack Obama: Idiot.
