Welcome to the world of a liberal Attorney General. Apparently the law that permits Richard Blumenthal to take away contractually-obligated bonuses is the fact that the executives were, in his opinion, undeserving of the money they’re owed.
Oh, and bonuses increasing in value? Not against the law, per say, but it “should be” and is “against public policy”. The new job of the Attorney General: Enforcing what should be the law but, well, isn’t.
“Because they are undeserving of it.” Mr. Blumenthal thinks it’s his right to decide who deserves legal payments.
So a Connecticut Attorney General can go after bonuses paid for by federal tax dollars but not a federal employee representing and living in his own state? Gotcha. Michelle Malkin writes:
Blumenthal gives new meaning to AIG:
Asshats In Government.
Indeed.
