Yes, Really: Obama Gives the Queen an iPod

by Stephan Tawney on April 1, 2009

Not only classless but pointless. Her Majesty has had iPods for years, at one point sparking one of those bizarre articles that spread across the web like wildfire. But hey, look at the bright side: It’s better than the 25 wrong region encoded DVDs that he gave Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

1750 The BBC’s Peter Hunt says: President Obama has given the Queen an Ipod during their private meeting at Buckingham Palace. It contains footage of her state visit to the US in May 2007. The Queen has given the president a silver framed photograph of herself and her husband. The official picture is what she gives all visiting dignitaries.

Does anyone in the White House have internet access and the website address (yes, address) for Google? Or better yet, does anyone there possess an ounce of class?

Exit question: What are the odds he loaded it with his audio books?

More: Allahpundit points out that Tapper is reporting the iPod is loaded with songs and applications. One shudders to think what the obvious diplomatic brain trust at 1600 Pennsylvania considers appropriate for the Queen.
