Why? Because Speaker Nancy Pelosi — already shown to be a pathological liar — is claiming that the agency told her in 2002 that they hadn’t waterboarded yet when they had. What other evidence of the supposed “law breaking” is there? None. But Pelosi’s Congressional Democratic allies want the CIA to shut up and fast. Never mind the fact that they want the subject to change ASAP.
Democrats on the House intelligence committee said Thursday that CIA officers broke the law in 2002 if they told Nancy Pelosi then that they had not yet engaged in waterboarding. “If they make a false report, absolutely it’s illegal,” said Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. “If they fail to make a report when they’re obligated to that is also illegal — a violation of the National Security Act.”
Just to be clear, even members of the liberal media are now accepting that San Fran Nan lied to the public. Jon Stewart of The Daily Show fried Madame Speaker for her ever-evolving claims of what she knew and when she knew it. Even Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD) is calling for investigations into what Pelosi knew.
But like I said, most Congressional Democrats are now launching into defense mode over their resident liar. They seek to accomplish not only shutting up the CIA for exposing the truth, but to change the subject of public discourse from whether Pelosi knew something to whether the intelligence agency broke the law. I’m less-than-convinced that that tactic will work outside of the liberal blogosphere.
Going to war with the CIA? Yeah, that’ll end well. Because they take threats well.
