Nancy Pelosi’s Week Keeps Getting Worse

Madame Speaker held a press conference this morning to give her latest spin/lie in regards to the waterboarding issue. It’s now generally acknowledged (even by some of her allies) that she’s a liar who knew torture was ongoing and said nothing. So what will San Fran Nan claim this time? Let’s find out

Under a barrage of questioning, Pelosi also again adamantly insisted that she was not aware that waterboarding or other enhanced interrogation techniques were being used on terrorism suspects and

“I am telling you they told me they approved these and said they wanted to use them but said they were not using waterboarding,” she said.

Growing increasingly frustrated throughout the briefing, Pelosi slowly started backing away from the podium as she tried to end the questioning. As she backed out, she continued to accuse the CIA of not telling Congress that dissenting opinions had been filed within the administration suggesting the methods were not lawful.

How bad was it? MSNBC and CNN basically called her a liar. A reporter in the room actually went as far as accusing her of lying. This after Pelosi continued to pick a futile fight with the CIA by accusing it of being an agency of liars. You can find video of her aide trying desperately to get her out of the room here.

I get an odd feeling that this isn’t working out quite as well as Democrats had hoped it would. Rather than frying Bush and Republicans, one of the most powerful Democrats in Washington — the Speaker of the House — has been exposed as a hypocrite and liar. Loyal lefties are even left making excuses that end up covering the Bush Administration’s actions along the way. It’s become a public relations nightmare for the left.
