Military Burns Bibles on Afghan Base

They were in Pashto, so the conclusion was that their purpose was to help spread Christianity in the Muslim nation.

Soldiers shouldn’t be proselytizing as part of their mission, but was it really necessary to burn the Bibles? Were there no churches or library that would accept free Pashto-language Bibles as part of their collection? I’m sure even my local branch would love to have had them.

Would the same “trash gets burned at the end of the day” rule get followed if we were talking about Korans instead? I seriously doubt it, out of fear that the act would spark riots and violence. But they’re just Christians and not Muslims, so who cares?
