A bomb has exploded outside of a Starbucks on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, apparently planted on a bench outside of the coffee shop on Third Avenue and 92nd Street. Local media reports that NYPD bomb squad is now on the scene, and there are (luckily) no immediate reported injuries.
Update: Doesn’t sound like the most powerful bomb ever created, though it’s obviously still serious (as any explosive would be). Apparently the item exploded around 4 AM and left a “gaping hole” in the bench on which it was left.
Update x2: Okay, a bit larger than it was made to sound. The explosion reportedly blew out the windows of the Starbucks, too.
