The rationale for extending term limits (a request that was denied for Giuliani after 9/11) was that Bloomberg’s financial prowess would be required to steer the city through this great recession. Yet now Bloomberg talks about how the economy is recovering and the crisis drawing to a close. Why, then, would Bloomberg be needed at the helm based on that rationale through a third term?
The result of Azi Paybarah’s question to that effect? Bloomberg is so pissed that he wouldn’t even permit the New York Observer reporter to finish his query. Such is the result of questioning a man obsessed with power and not used to tough scrutiny from the media.
