Oy: Hurricane Season Began Today

It lasts from June 1st to November 30th, and is dreaded by just about everyone who’s ever been affected by a tropical cyclone. This year has sparked more concerns than usual, as planners are concerned that families suffering from the economic collapse will skimp on basic necessities.

“Given the economic downturn, people who are on the edge financially may forego some of the relatively simple but, in a case where money is everything to you at that time, things you could be doing to prepare,” Read said.

The general consensus amongst meteorologists is that we’ll experience an active but normal season this year. One can only hope that people will be spared a costly and/or deadly storm, especially this year. The busiest part of the season is the August/September area, so there’s plenty of time to prepare if you haven’t yet.
