by Stephan Tawney on June 2, 2009

The large amount of debris found off the coast of Brazil is without a doubt from the missing Air France flight, Brazilian Defense Minister Nelson Jobim has confirmed. No survivors out of the 228 people on board the flight have been found.

The announcement came after naval resources from across the world, including from the United States and France, have pledged or dispatched help in locating the missing flight. The American military is considering sendingĀ  unmanned underwater vehicles to search for any debris no longer on the surface, while a Navy P-3 surveillance plane landed in Brazil this morning.
