Biden: To Save the Nation from Bankruptcy We Need to Bankrupt It

by Stephan Tawney on July 16, 2009

Behold the wisdom of the man first in line for the presidency. Something happens to Obama, this guy’s got the launch codes to the world’s most extensive nuclear arsenal and powerful military. Just a little something to help you sleep a night.

“And folks look, AARP knows and the people working here today know, the president knows, and I know, that the status quo is simply not acceptable,” Biden said at the event on Thursday in Alexandria, Va. “It’s totally unacceptable. And it’s completely unsustainable. Even if we wanted to keep it the way we have it. It can’t do it financially.”

“We’re going to go bankrupt as a nation,” Biden said.

“Well, people that I say that to say, ‘What are you talking about, you’re telling me we have to go spend money to keep from going bankrupt?’” Biden said. “The answer is yes, I’m telling you.”

Uh huh. Biden says this the day after the annual deficit reaches $1 trillion. The nation currently owes $11.4 trillion in debt, the proposed socialized health-care bill in Congress costs upwards of $1.4 trillion, the administration has proposed spending trillions on stopping global warming, unemployment is about to hit double-digits, and that $787 billion “stimulus” bill hasn’t stimulated crap.

I’d call him retarded but, unlike Barack Obama, I wouldn’t want to make fun of the actually disabled. Because I like to think that I possess an ounce of class.
