Recovery.gov: $246,100 To Repair a Door

by Stephan Tawney on July 20, 2009

The federal government spent a whopping $246,100 to repair a door at Dyess Air Force Base in Texas’ 19th Congressional district, represented by Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R).

According to the $18 million Recovery.gov website, the over quarter-million dollar expenditure was awarded to AFCO Technologies, Inc. after just two offers were received.

The entire project, which evidently includes $1,198,000 to complete phase four of the replacement of gas mains at the facility, is scheduled for completion in January of 2010.
