Obama to Blue Dogs Opposing ObamaCare : “You’re Going to Destroy My Presidency”

Remember when The One made hay about Sen. Jim DeMint saying the defeat of ObamaCare would be the president’s Waterloo? We were subjected to righteous rhetoric about this socialization of healthcare not being about him. Guess what? It is:

Grassley said he spoke with a Democratic House member last week who shared Obama’s bleak reaction during a private meeting to reports that some factions of House Democrats were lining up to stall or even take down the overhaul unless leaders made major changes.

“Let’s just lay everything on the table,” Grassley said. “A Democrat congressman last week told me after a conversation with the president that the president had trouble in the House of Representatives, and it wasn’t going to pass if there weren’t some changes made … and the president says, ‘You’re going to destroy my presidency.’”

So it’s not about Barack Obama as long as you simply rubber-stamp whatever legislation he proposes. But when you’re cautious about approving something or out-and-out oppose it, suddenly it’s all about Barack Obama and his presidency. Funny that.

How outraged did the Obama political machine pretend to be regarding Jim DeMint’s remark from the other day? The president’s official political organization, Organizing for America, sent out an email to supporters, complete with the quote and a video response from Obama himself.

Turns out Jim DeMint was right…it’s all about Obama.
