R.O.P.E.: Do We Hang Ourselves

Howard Houchen

The strangle-holds the R.O.P.E. bunch (Reid-Obama-Pelosi-Enablers) has lassoed OUR great nation with are becoming increasingly strong and numerous.  These dedicated philosophical socialists, and the enablers who contribute to furthering the collectivist mind-set, have felt emboldened enough to disregard the intents and purposes of OUR Founders.  They have bestowed upon themselves the right to confiscate OUR rights, OUR freedoms.  The R.O.P.E. is a finely tuned and calculating entity whose actions can only be interpreted as follows: They expect We, the people to commit personal freedom and American sovereignty suicide, to simply hang ourselves via acquiescence and apathy.

The R.O.P.E. game plan is nothing more than an extension of their sole purpose of existence; the acquisition and maintenance of political power.  They have been quite vocal with their insistence that the last two elections prove Americans desire “Change”.  The only issue with that assumption is that the “Change” desired by Americans does not include the disembowelment of the American character, the heart of which has always been the notion of personal liberty and personal responsibility.   The R.O.P.E.’s intentionally perverted translation of political events allowed them to unleash a torrent of manure filled, power-grabbing designed legislation that tears at the fabric of American culture.  The ability to achieve the American Dream is fast disappearing due to central government intrusions into personal lives and personal property.

At the heart of virtually every policy proposed by the R.O.P.E. are provisions either directly attacking or significantly limiting uniquely American ideals of self-government and free-market capitalism. Both are fundamental components of a fragile system that allowed America to become the envy of all other nations around the world.  We are witnessing the fragility of that system right now, the frailty Thomas Jefferson warned us about when he said: “I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”  Just because We, the people, have been handed R.O.P.E., do we hang ourselves?

The answer is, of course, NO!  To do so would be an affirmation of the antithesis of all that is American.  To do so would directly confirm the fact that government dictates to the people rather the people dictating to government.  Of note, is the belief held by the R.O.P.E. that the American public is either too stupid or too apathetic to keep from hanging themselves.  As evidenced by the argument that these socialist policies are for the betterment of American society in the long-term, we simply aren’t “enlightened” enough to see it that way.  To not fight for the U.S. Constitution and for OUR right as citizens to govern ourselves would essentially seal our fate as failures in self-governance and render the ideals of OUR Founders as meaningless and lost.

As the R.O.P.E. heads into the August recess, rest assured, they will not rest.  They will maneuver in such a way as to attempt to tighten the already thrown noose around Health Care.  This was a predictable move once the “Blued-Hogs” seemed to balk due to political back-lash back home.   The R.O.P.E. will begin by viscously attacking anyone and anything associated with anti-nationalized health care.  Pelosi has already started by demonizing “Big Insurance” and has been thoughtful enough to provide every enabler with a “Blue and White Talking Points” card.  Each enabler is to go to their constituents and explain (through utilization of the Talking Points) why nationalized health care is a good thing.  Just another example of a R.O.P.E. concerted conspiracy to sell another load of manure.  Obama will revamp his dismal town hall performance and attempt a flanking maneuver.  Reid, with the RINO bunch, will start murmuring “consensus” points based on “bipartisanship”.  All segments of the RO.P.E. will attempt to do their part in securing nationalized health care, for it is this issue that holds the  promise of government control and maintenance of power for the Left.

The rest of the enablers will refuse to hold town hall meetings based on the false argument that the meetings are getting out of hand.  This particular R.O.P.E. tactic is being pursued by several enablers of current ruling regime.  The office of Rep. Dan Boren, has confirmed he will be holding NO town hall meetings this recess. There have been no previous reports of “wild” crowds at any of his previous town hall meetings. Rep. Boren is an elected representative, what is it about accountability does he not understand? To not afford We, the people, an opportunity, at such a crucial time, to voice concerns and opinions flies in the face of representative democracy. It is the citizens’ right to ask: “Where Are You, Dan?” It is the citizens’ duty to ask questions of you, it is your duty to answer those questions. The American people should not have to come looking and begging for OUR representatives to address issues.

It is at this point where We, the people, begin to unfurl OUR own ROPE, the rope of liberty that ensures accountable government.  Our rope has something their R.O.P.E. does not; the backing of the U.S. Constitution.  Our rope comes with a duty and a right to fight the oppressive nature of their R.O.P.E. Like our Founders intended, all that is needed is a citizenry with the will and the character necessary to fight for their beliefs and convictions of what is just and right.  Our rope is the will of the people; their rope is the will of government.  Ask yourself…which one must win out?
