Because this is what you resort to when you can no longer win an argument based on facts. You blame them for creating a mess that, er, you’ve been a part of creating for the past 5 years. And then you tell them to just shut up based on that reason alone.
Please, folks. He doesn’t mind cleaning up the mess he helped create. He just doesn’t want the people who made the mess, including himself, talking much during the process. That reasoning made sense in some corner of his mind.
He’s a thug and liar who insists that dissenters shut up. Those who don’t shut up should be reported by their friends and family to the White House snitch line. Welcome to the Chicago way.
