Dem Who Opposes ID For Voting: You Need ID To Attend Town Halls

by Stephan Tawney on August 12, 2009

Rep. Eugene Green (D-TX) doesn’t mind if illegal aliens show up to vote for him come election day, but God forbid an American citizen shows up to question him about socialized health care. Suddenly Green is demanding photo ID.

Why do I have the oddest feeling that this provision won’t find itself enforced against, say, protesters from SEIU friendly to Green’s cause? Probably because the entire purpose of this move is to hide from voters, requiring them to essentially sign in and show ID before speaking their mind to their elected representative.

Green is hoping that voters will either be intimidated into not showing up, especially considering the thuggery used against those who’ve come out against ObamaCare, or will simply find it not worth the trouble. Hopefully he’ll be proven wrong.
