A video courtesy of CNS News and Hot Air. A constituent of Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA)’s wanted to know why legislation purporting to be comprehensive doesn’t include tort reform. After all, such a step would significantly lower health care costs and go a long way to allowing more Americans to afford care.
Enter former Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean (D-Yeah!!!), who was also hosting the town hall for some inexplicable reason. Why can’t the legislation include tort reform? Because, Dean says, Democrats don’t want to stand up against a significant portion of their cash source: Trial lawyers.
So apparently everyone will need to make sacrifices under ObamaCare…except Democratic donors. They can keep doing what they’re doing without restriction or reform. Because otherwise they might stop funding liberal Democratic causes.
At least Dean is telling the truth here. Democrats want to force everyone to suffer, including average Americans, but trial lawyers and their special interests. They’ll do whatever it takes to lower health care costs and provide more care for Americans….except stand up to their political donors.
