A man outside a meeting on health care held by Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA) was holding a sign that showed his displeasure with President Obama and his policies. He was on public property and so, per the First Amendment, he had a right to peaceful assembly.
But apparently that’s only in America and, according to Officer Wesley Cheeks, Jr., this isn’t America any more.
Why can’t the sign be on public property? Because the cop says so. When pressed again for a reason, Offcier Cheeks reiterates, “It just can’t be.”
We then go on to learn that this man no longer has First Amendment rights because he’s on school board property. I missed that part of the constitution, apparently. When he points out that other people are protesting, the story changes to him being unable to protest because he has a picture of Obama on his sign.
That’s when the heart of the exchange comes about. Not only does the officer claim that he can charge the protester with whatever he wants to charge him with, but the officer says that this isn’t America anymore.
Watch. Enjoy the fascism.

This officer’s Cheeks behaviour and statements to non-violent protesters is ABSOLUTLEY OUTRAGEOUS AND UNACCEPTABLE!!!!
We are still in America and we have the right to protest and say what is on our mind. you need to remind this officer that we have rights and we have our FREEDOM. My son is in the Army protecting these valuable rights and he will die for this if need be.
You are employing a dangerous man who is prejudiced in his views of protection and enforcement.
THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!! WE ARE STILL IN AMERICA AND IDIOTS LIKE CHEEKS NEED TO REALIZE THIS NO MATTER WHO IS PRESIDENT AND WHAT COLOR HE IS.
