Good Lord. It’s pretty bad when CNN anchors are lecturing our White House officials on what competition actually means. It’s worse when said White House officials still don’t understand the concept of competition even after having it explained to them.

Basically, Blitzer wants to know why any sort of plan for increasing competition doesn’t include the removal of barriers stopping individuals from purchasing health insurance across state lines. Can’t real competition be achieved by significantly expanding the number of private market options Americans have access to?

Of course it could. But that wouldn’t lay the ground work for a single-payer system, which is the real goal of ObamaCare. Kudos to Wolf Blitzer for not dropping the issue after Axelrod’s initial attempt to dodge it.
