Democrats To Sanction Wilson for Telling the Truth

by Stephan Tawney on September 14, 2009

In Washington, telling the truth is a crime punishable by Congressional condemnation. If you dare to speak up and point out that the president is lying to the American people, you can expect his minions in Congress to punish you for it.

Here’s what I don’t understand: Why give Joe Wilson any more publicity? He’s now raised more money than his Democratic opponent, using the tagline that he’s under attack by liberal Democrats. Why are Congressional Democrats going to turn him into even more of a victim/martyr for conservative causes? All they’ll achieve is driving more funds into his coffers.

House Democratic leaders will move ahead with a “resolution of disapproval” against Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) on Tuesday afternoon, following through on their threat to sanction the conservative lawmaker for heckling President Obama last week.

House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) will formally introduce the resolution Tuesday afternoon, according to Democratic insiders, and the vast majority of Democrats – as well as some Republicans – are expected to vote for it.

Because they’re Republicans without backbones. Joe Wilson pointed out that Barack Obama was lying to the American people and these weak-ass RINOs are prepared to condemn him just so they’re liked by MSNBC and the Huffington Post crowd. The squishiness they’re willing to display just to be able to keep playing the lefty, NYT cocktail circuit is pathetic.
