How weak is our foreign policy under the Obama Administration? France, which Americans joke about being unbearably weak, is actually taking a stronger stance against the Iranian nuclear program than the Obama Administration.
Vice President Joe Biden is now claiming that the Islamic Republic of Iran, state-sponsor of terror and pursuer of nuclear weapons to wipe Israel off the map, isn’t a threat. Good to know.
Vice President Joe Biden earlier refused to confirm to CNN that the George W. Bush-era plan was being shelved.
But he did explain the logic of doing so, saying Iran — a key concern for the United States — was not a threat.
“I think we are fully capable and secure dealing with any present or future potential Iranian threat,” he told CNN’s Chris Lawrence in Baghdad, where he is on a brief trip.
“The whole purpose of this exercise we are undertaking is to diminish the prospect of the Iranians destabilizing that region in the world. I am less concerned — much less concerned — about the Iranian potential. They have no potential at this moment, they have no capacity to launch a missile at the United States of America,” he said.
Iran is developing nuclear weapons and the long-range missiles required to deliver them. But Biden, and apparently the Obama Administration, doesn’t see that as a threat to the United States. Never mind our allies in the region that we’ve promised to protect. Promises to allies mean nothing in this new era of HopenChange.
The Times of London rightly rips the Obama Administration to shreds over this dangerous stupidity. Smart power!
