I can see how California’s very classy senator can compare the two events.
On one hand: An attack on U.S. soil by the Japanese Empire that killed 2,345 members of the U.S. military and 57 civilians; wounded another 1,247 members of the military and 35 civilians; wiped out a chunk of our naval power in the Pacific; and brought us into a war that would claim another 418,500 American lives.
On the other hand: A measure that would turn water back on in San Joaquin Valley, where the government’s insane protection of the delta smelt fish has dried up fields and destroyed livelihoods.
So…yeah…clearly comparable.
Incidentally, Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC)’s measure to turn the water back on in San Joaquin Valley failed in the U.S. Senate. Apparently Democrats are more concerned about a fish that contributes little to the environment than whether farmers are able to even eat and grow crops in the Valley.
Stay classy, liberals. Stay classy.
