Because really, what better way to spend $400,000 than to send it to a Libyan charity run by a terrorist leader who recently held massive celebrations for another Libyan terrorist (who killed hundreds of Americans)? Your government at work, folks.
The Obama Administration plans to give $400,000 in funding to a Libyan charity run by the Gadhafi family, and U.S. Rep. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) wants the grant withdrawn.
The money would be divided between two foundations run by the family of Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi. A $200,000 share is set to go to the Gadhafi Development Foundation, which is run by Gadhafi’s son, Saif, and another $200,000 are to go to Wa Attassimou, an organization run by Muammar Gadhafi’s daughter, Aisha.
Kirk says the grants should be withdrawn in light of the recent return to Libya of Pan Am Flight 103 bomber Abdel Baset Megrahi. The terminally ill prisoner was released from in Scotland on compassionate grounds, and got a hero’s welcome from Muammar Gadhafi and other Libyans upon his return.
Saif Gadhafi was involved in negotiating for Megrahi’s release, and accompanied him back to Libya.
We’re talking about the same Gadhafi whose recent rambling of conspiracy theories at the UN could’ve left even the Alex Jones crowd speechless.
The same guy who’s been a dictator in Libya for 40 years and was a big enough threat to the United States that Reagan sought out and bombed his tent.
The same guy who called the UN a “terrorist” organization and blamed the Jews for the assassination of John F. Kennedy without even blinking.
The same guy who suggested during his rambling speech that so-called “swine flu”, officially called H1n1, was a creation of the pharmaceutical industry intending to infect the world.
The same guy who compared the Vatican, home of the Roman Catholic church, to the Taliban.
Yeah, that guy. His family is the one we’re handing over $400,000 in taxpayer funds to. Thanks, Dear Leader.
