Video: Tony Harris’ Moment of Shock

by Stephan Tawney on October 3, 2009

So shocked is CNN anchor Tony Harris that the International Olympic Committee ditched Chicago that he utters the same question three or four times (he speaks under his breath at the beginning).

Of course, it has nothing to do with Harris thinking Chicago is just such a fantastic city in which to host Olympics. He’s in utter disbelief that the IOC would eliminate Chicago in the first round — or at all — when The One graced them with his presence and asked for the games. How dare anyone rebuff Barack Obama’s requests? How dare anyone embarrass him by not doing what he wants them to?

I thought the world loved us now that George Bush is out of office? You mean there might be some fundamental anti-American feelings regardless of who leads us? Next you’re going to tell me that the world only welcomed Obama with open arms because it figured he’d sell-out his own country and hand over more power to the rest of the world in the name of “progress”. Silly.

By the way, it didn’t take CNN long after this display of disbelief to begin the spinning. Before the announcement the Olympics being held in Chicago was considered the best thing since sliced bread. A few minutes later all we heard was how America now wouldn’t have to take on the massive costs and how Chicago can concentrate on its crime problem without this “distraction”.

Anything for The One. Hear that? It’s CNN’s credibility flying out the window.
