Good News: Obama (Literally) Bows To Another Royal Figurehead

by Stephan Tawney on Sat, Nov 14, 2009

A few thoughts here.

The first thing that comes to my mind is how this is a metaphor for Obama’s entire foreign policy: America bowing to foreign powers, trying to win the love of other nations by kissing their leader’s asses and making itself subordinate to the interests of other countries. Losing dignity and putting its interests last in order to be liked.

But then another issue comes to mind: Obama’s gesture is clearly the same as the one he made towards Saudi King Abdullah. Except that the White House claimed that Obama was only nodding his head or looking at his shoe in that instance. Even as the same Obama only nodded his head towards Queen Elizabeth and his wife patted her on the back.

Not only is this yet another instance where the American head of state is bowing to a foreign monarch, but it exposes the lie from the White House in the King Abdullah matter.

Jimmy Carter must be thrilled. He’s probably taking every vitamin pill and colonic he can to insure that he lives beyond the election of 2012.

Finally – then – he can hand the crown for worst living ex-president of the USA to Obama

First, it was to the Saudi king. Now, he’s taken a bow before the Emperor of Japan…
