Navy Seals Being Prosecuted for Allegedly Punching Terrorist

by Stephan Tawney on Tue, Nov 24, 2009

Ready for your outrage of the week? The United States is prosecuting three Navy Seals for allegedly punching a high-profile terrorist responsible for murdering American citizens. Yes, seriously.

By the way, did I mention we’re talking about the terrorist responsible for killing American citizens and then hanging their charred and mutilated bodies from a bridge while others chanted anti-American slogans? Yeah, slipped my mind.

The three, all members of the Navy’s elite commando unit, have refused non-judicial punishment — called an admiral’s mast — and have requested a trial by court-martial.

Ahmed Hashim Abed, whom the military code-named “Objective Amber,” told investigators he was punched by his captors — and he had the bloody lip to prove it.

Now, instead of being lauded for bringing to justice a high-value target, three of the SEAL commandos, all enlisted, face assault charges and have retained lawyers.

Matthew McCabe, a Special Operations Petty Officer Second Class (SO-2), is facing three charges: dereliction of performance of duty for willfully failing to safeguard a detainee, making a false official statement, and assault.

Petty Officer Jonathan Keefe, SO-2, is facing charges of dereliction of performance of duty and making a false official statement.

Petty Officer Julio Huertas, SO-1, faces those same charges and an additional charge of impediment of an investigation.

I don’t throw around the accusation lightly, but the prosecution of these three men should be considered treasonous. We’re going to put our men behind bars for allegedly punching a terrorist who killed and mutilated American citizens? All based upon the accusations of said terrorist?

We’re charging three American soldiers for allegedly giving a murderous terrorist a bloody lip.  These are men and women who volunteer to put their lives on the line to defend our country and way of life. And we’re going to prosecute them for giving a murderer a boo boo while doing their job.

We’re taking the word of a proven terrorist who’s murdered American citizens over that of three American Navy Seals. What a world.

Thanks to Ace, Michelle Malkin, and Hot Air.

    Our Country is screwed!

How does this even pass the common sense test?

This is exactly what we need, our elite forces coming under the scrutiny of a PC bureaucrat that has never seen war.

These guys are the best in the world!! Let them do their job!!

I don’t want the next guys to hesitate in doing what they know is right worried that they will be second guessed by someone 3000 miles away.

What the hell is going on here??

The 9/11 terrorists are being tried in a civilian court after they pleaded guilty in a Military court.

Now, we are charging Seals who are capturing new terrorists for giving them a bloody lip. Are you kidding me? It is a good thing that they didn’t shoot him, they probably would have been charged with murder…

I am sorry, something is not right with this administration….

A Navy Seal from Colorado, Danny Deitz and other special operations members died as a result of allowing a sheepherder to get away and report their presence to the enemy. We are a war but do not allow our warriors to protect us without having to look over their shoulder for legal issues that could affect the future of they and their families. This kind of BS prosecution by the Navy and other military and government authorities (i.e. Haditha) is in part what led to the terrorist attack at Ft Hood. I thought 3000 dead in NYC, Pennsylvania and the Pentagon (we need to see the vids of people jumping 80 stories to escape burning to death) was enough to convince the American people to be resolute in this war. My son (Special Operation Command soldier) said he doubted it was enough. Sorry to say, he was right and I was wrong.

Time to impeach/un-elect Obama. He truely is the enemy within!!

  6. George Massengale Says:

Believe it; Obama is trying to lead the U.S. on a path of destruction. But, the American people will not allow it – as evidenced by the battle on Health Care.

God Bless the SEALS and all of the American Warriors.

    Military Retired

  7. With everything going on in this world you would think all is lost… the government is coming down upon us as did the Roman Empire.. in these times people are losing pride, belief in their country, and respect given to the ones who fight for our freedom. I believe in a country; Life, liberty, and the pursuit of all that endanger it. There are people who are letting this go, letting this country go to ruin because they feel like they cannot change things… I offer you a chance to make history, to undo the state in which our country has gone to.

The United States Military is the best in the world. These men and women are truly heroes. Now our gutless, politically correct elite decide that punishing our heroes might make us look better in the Muslim world. This country is reaching a boiling point with this type of leadership. I for one don’t care what the muslim world thinks about us and especially our military heroes. We can’t fight and expect to win a war while looking over our shoulder at Washington and the current Administration. The real enemy within. Obama, Pelosi, Ried, your all traitors and it’s time the American people show you the door!

Honesty if it wasnt for the info “Objective Amber” could have provided and the fact that they are so good at their job and take it deadly serious. The only word headline you would find, if it even made the news, would be “another high level al queda member was found dead sometime yesterday”

Hoora SEALS and support spec ops. Making a better tommorrow, 1 body bag at a time.

  • Outraged Citizen Says:

The absurdity of these charges: of giving a terroist ringleader a sore lip, who had four security contractors savagely beaten like ragdolls and then doused on fire and hung by their entrails. How can we just stand by and let these overzealous prosecutors condemn our elite warriors to this fate? This is indeed a BLACK DAY in American Military History.
