It’s a sad story, as is always the case when someone decides to take his or her own life. My prayers go out to his family and friends, and we can only hope he’s resting peacefully with his creator.
That being said, liberals and the media (redundant, I know) took no time at all to blame his death on conservatives. He was a federal employee who reportedly had “Fed” scrawled across his chest, therefore they determined — before any kind of investigation — that Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and Michelle Malkin were to blame.
Turns out, not so much. The poor man actually committed suicide but tried to make his death look like a homicide. Not because of some underlying political agenda, but because he wanted to preserve life insurance payments for his family. The policies wouldn’t pay off if he committed suicide.
FRANKFORT — A U.S. Census worker found dead in a secluded Clay County cemetery killed himself but tried to make the death look like a homicide, authorities have concluded.
Bill Sparkman, 51, of London, might have tried to cover the manner of his death to preserve payments under two life-insurance polices that he had taken out. The policies wouldn’t pay off if Sparkman committed suicide, state police Capt. Lisa Rudzinski said.
“We believe it was an intentional act on his part to take his own life,” said Rudzinski, who helped lead the investigation.
Tests showed that the only DNA located on his body belonged to him, while the word “fed” was written in a manner consistent with self-application. There were also no indications that he had struggled with anyone or that he was drugged or unconscious when he was hung from the tree. His glasses were also taped to his face, which would make no sense unless he wanted to make sure they remained on during his suicide. Additionally, he was found hanging in a way that he could’ve stood up and stopped the strangling if he wanted to.
It’s a shame that Mr. Sparkman decided to end his own life. Surely he will be sorely missed by his family and friends. It’s also a shame that liberals decided to blame his death on the conservative movement before they even had the basic facts. They owe the individuals they specifically blamed for his death an apology.
More: Michelle Malkin.
