Obama: Socialized Healthcare Is My Jobs Program

by Stephan Tawney on December 5, 2009

We’re all screwed.

“What has happened is a lot of the debate in Washington has been around health care, so people think, well, I guess they must not be working on jobs,” Obama said Friday in Allentown, Pennsylvania. “No, we’ve been working on jobs the whole time. Health care is part and parcel with where we need to take our economy.”

Obama argued that insurance premiums are taking a greater and greater toll on small businesses, so therefore, “Us being able to control health care costs and giving small businesses the opportunity to pool with other small businesses and individuals around the country so that they have the same kind of leverage with insurance companies that the big guys have — that’s an economic plan. That’s part of our jobs growth.”

His job-creation program is the establishment of a new federal entitlement program that increases taxes, explodes the deficit, pushes the private insurance industry out of business, guts Medicare, and rations health services. And allegedly he said this with a straight face and his fingers uncrossed.

This probably helps explain why over 15.3 million Americans are out of work; the rate has only fallen now that temporary holiday jobs have kicked in and people have stopped looking for work entirely; and even the White House expects the jobless rate to rise again and keep climbing well into next year. The One thinks jobs are created when new, massive federal entitlements are established.

Have I yet mentioned that we’re screwed? We’re screwed.
