GOP: The Party of “No”

by Stephan Tawney on December 10, 2009

I’ve never understood the negative connotation that comes along with being the “Party of No”. Perhaps it’s time that the Republican Party embraced the label in a positive fashion.

Admit that opponents absolutely correct. We are the party of “no”:

  • No more big government.
  • No higher taxes.
  • No socialized healthcare.
  • No bureaucrats between you and your doctors.
  • No more exploding deficits.
  • No federal agencies shutting down dissent under the “fairness” label.
  • No more punishing productivity and success.
  • No more death tax.
  • No more open borders.

Standing athwart history and yelling “stop” isn’t always a bad thing. In fact, quite often it’s the best position to take.
