I actually didn’t see this one coming. Sort of figured Woods would issue a “no more public statements” statement, and then work on fixing the family — if it can be fixed — while returning to professional golf as if nothing happened.
But that isn’t the case. Effective immediately, he’s taking an indefinite break from the game.
Tiger Woods is taking an indefinite leave from professional golf to work on saving his family, using the word “infidelity” for the first time in a statement posted on his Web site.
Woods says he is aware of the disappointment that “my infidelity” has caused to his wife and children. He says he might not be able to repair the damage, but he wants to try.
Can the damage be repaired? Most people have lost count of the number of women who claim they had an affair with Woods. You’d need a “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” construction team to repair that damage.
Here’s the statement.

Nobody’s perfect. Somebody should give him another chance. He’s a great golfer and he had said his peace. Let’s just hope that healing follows soon with his family.
