House Approves Barney Frank’s Massive Power Grab

by Stephan Tawney on December 11, 2009

The House of Representatives approved yet another expansion of the federal government today, creating yet another regulatory agency and ensuring taxpayers will be bailing out companies well into the future.

27 Democrats joined with all Republicans in voting against the legislation, but liberal Democrats were able to ram it down America’s throat anyway. Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY), tax cheat and chairman of the tax policy writing committee, was amongst those not voting.

The Congressional Black Caucus made threats to boycott the banking regulation vote unless they were promised billions of dollars in payoffs. Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) agreed to appropriate $6 billion in taxpayer funds to win over the caucus.

Corruption and ever-expanding government. Just another day in a Washington controlled by Democrats.
